Challenge #12: Mesh

Charity Becker here with Challenge #12. The midwest is enduring quite the heat wave and to celebrate I've cooked up a doozy of a challenge. The next two weeks are going to be ALL about mesh. Originally I had the sort of orange or red mesh bags in mind that oranges, onions, or other produce comes in. But when I proposed my challenge to the Paper Girl's they showed up with colors I had never seen before.

To start of this batch of inspiration is a card I created using Graphic 45.
I slipped the mesh behind my letters to help my sentiment stand out.
~ So Glad, You're Back ~

Next up we have a layout from Erica,
she used just a smidge of mesh as an accent on her tree.
~ Rest Up...Refresh ~

This delightful card is from Kyla,
She robbed the First Aid kit and misted her mesh to compliment her card.
~ wishing you a Speedy Recovery ~

Not happy with just one project I (Charity)
went all gung-ho and added wide bands of mesh to my back ground for this layout.
~ drift wood ~

This seriously adorable card is from Amber.
She used her mesh as a misting mask.
~ Happy Birthday ~

Kristy snagged one mesh bag from her children's sand toys
and another from a Costco watermelon to create this cheery layout.
~ Perfect Ending ~

Judy bought a cantaloupe for the sole purpose
of getting a neutral toned mesh for her card.
~ Imagine Dream Fly ~

I'm sure after seeing this array of creativity your brain is HUMMING with ideas on how YOU can use mesh. Go ahead, show us up!!! We'll be thrilled to applaud your success. Then be sure to link up so I can send one of you this prize:

Challenge #11: Rub On

Welcome back to The Paper Girls Challenge.  Kristy here, with your 11th Challenge!  Last time I challenged you to use stamps on your creation.  This time, it is rub-on's.  If you are like me, you probably have a drawer full of rub-ons sitting there staring back at you, waiting to be used.  I know I have a bunch.  I'll see them in the store, and think how cute, but I rarely pull them out to use them.  This is why I wanted to push myself and The Paper Girls to use those pesky little things...
I love that everyone used rub-ons in all different ways - even rubbing directly onto pictures.  I also love the mix of scrapbook pages and cards.  Remember, you don't just have to do scrapbook pages to enter our challenges!!!
Check out what everyone did!

Challenge #10 - A Photo Inspiration!

Hello everyone and welcome back!

It's another Monday here at The Paper Girl's Challenge Blog which can only mean one thing, a new challenge!
For our tenth challenge (can you believe it?! Ten!) I found a photo to draw inspiration from.  While spending some time on Pinterest a couple months ago I came across this pin that I added to my colour board. I loved the vibrant colours and the movement of the piece so I tucked it away and hoped that I could come back to it one day.  This challenge seemed like the perfect time!
The mosaic was created and made by British artist, Natalie Warne. You can check out her online gallery here.

I thought with this photo there was so many different ways to draw inspiration to create a layout or card. The colours, the wavy lines, the mosaic itself, the flowers, the cirlces, the tiles are just some of the many different possiblites. So there is Challenge #10, use this photo in any way you can imagine to create a project!

I love what our talented Team Members came up with!

Challenge #9 Subway Art

I'm so exited for this next challenge. Besides being a scrapbooking addict I have a little obsession with Pinterest.  As I was browsing a few months ago I started noticing a trend of Subway art in Home decor products and craft projects. I started thinking about how I'd like to make something of my own and then the idea popped into my head that this style would translate really well onto a scrapbook page. Here are a few samples of some of the products I've seen in stores:

Also if you need more ideas I created a pinboard of just subway art so you can have a lot of ideas to choose from. Here are a few of my favorites though:

This one is from a blog called Infarrantly Creative

Letterpress Poem Art Print. ...Our story will always read LOVE.
This one is from a shop on Etsy called Sycamorestreetpress

I hope this will help you get the wheels turning! And last but not least here are the pages made by our talented team members. I love all of the different directions that everyone went with it and I can't wait to see what all of you do.

Challenge #8 Use your Chipboard Stash

I have been scrapbooking for over 8 years & have accumulated quite a stash. Brads, buttons, ribbon, chipboard...I love it all!
In an effort to use up some of my stash, I came up with a challenge using the bare chipboard.
For my layout I used large letters, covered them with paper, sanded the edges & then stamped with a tiny stamp all over them.
The letters “RTW” stand for “Round The World”, a little nickname I have given my daughter.
Hope you enjoy this challenge & I can’t wait to see what you create! ~Sheryl

Challenge # 7

Challenge #7: Sketch

Good morning all you wonderful Crafty people! Charity here. Today is my first time hosting a challenge for the Paper Girls Challenge Blog. I decided to go with a sketch...sort of go easy on you at first! ;)
Here's the sketch:

A few weeks back I was having a particularly bad day so I turned to crafting to ease my mind. I like to create something beautiful when it seems I can't find beauty no matter where I look. I turned that layout into the above sketch.

I was worried the sketch would be a little hard to follow so I put together a second layout to illustrate alternative ways to view the design.

I shouldn't have worried about the ways people would interpret the sketch. My fellow paper Girls have plenty of options for you to view.

Amber

Sheryl

So grab yourself a copy of the sketch, and get started creating. You have until Friday, May 18 to link your entries. Have them in by 11:59 pm. Check my blog for a peak at the prize!
