Challenge #55 - Mason Jars

Happy Monday!  Deborah here from ScrappinTheLittleThings and its my turn to host a Challenge here at PGCB. I'm so excited to be sharing a Challenge with you.  As summer approaches, I get anxious to bring out the mason jars for a bit of mason jar madness.  We have several neighbors who have lemon trees which we juice up those aromatic lemons for fresh lemonade.  There is just something about the way lemonade tastes when its homemade and served in a mason jar.

Today’s challenge is Mason Jar Madness.  I saw this photo on the internet probably a year or so ago and just loved the idea of creating a fun summer lighting for our back porch.

Here’s the photo inspiration (I wish I could remember where this came from!):

And here’s what I created (more information on my blog):

And then I also worked on a Mother’s Day gift.  I embellished a mason jar and stuffed it full of cute ribbons for a new mom in my neighborhood.

So the challenge is to create something with mason jars.  Our DT created some amazing projects.  Be sure to link up your project and we’ll send out a snazzy prize for you!

Becci created this confetti style mason jar card with sequins, stitching and a clear overlay.

Charity used Stickles for fireflies and an Echo Park title for this card.

Kristy used Crystal Effects to give her jar a little shine.

Michele used masking to create a fun row of mason jars on her card.

Amber made a garden-inspired card for someone special.

The winner of Challenge #54 is:

Congratulations. Please send us an e-mail at papergirlschallengeblog@gmail.com to claim your prize

Challenge #54 - Paparazzi

Hello!  Erica here from Stamping Starlette - It's been a while since I've been able to host a Challenge here at PGCB. I'm so excited to be sharing a Challenge with you. I was trying to think of something trendy we've all been hoarding and the first thing that came to mind for me personally is Cameras. I have so many camera stamps, wood veneer, flair buttons and probably paper too. Don't be afraid to take this further. I will accept pictures with cameras in it as well. Just remember... Have fun with it!

This is the page I made using some camera flair and a camera stamp.

Becci created this fun Instagram inspired shaped card

Charity used a journaling card and paper with Camera images and a die-cut cork Camera.

Amber used a camera stamp and fussy-cut the image for her card front.

The winner of Challenge #53 is:
Michelle King!

2nd Anniversary Blog Hop

Welcome to The Paper Girls Challenge blog hop!

We offer our regular challenges every two weeks on the first and third Mondays of the month.  What do we do in the event there is a fifth Monday in the month?  Why we have a blog hop!

And this is no ordinary blog hop. We Paper Girls just recently celebrated our second anniversary! Happy blogiversary to us!

We have had a fun two years getting to know you and seeing your projects.  We've said goodbye to a few of the original Paper Girls (JudySheryl, and Kyla) and now today we are saying bye to Heather. We appreciate all the work these girls did and wish them all well.  Life gets busy.  And crazy.  And  we know all too well that sometimes crafting and blogs have to be pushed aside for awhile.  Now that we are down a few girls we just may be looking for a few good guest designers in the future!  If you are interested make sure that you are listed on the linky on our sidebar for consideration.

Okay, now back to the hop!  The fabulous store Creative Embellishments is offering a $25 gift certificate to our random winner!  Creative Embellishments carries wood veneer shapes, chipboard, and stamps.  They have so many wonderful designs to choose from.  Please give them a big thanks from The Paper Girls over at their blog or facebook page.

For our hop today we have created projects that have a Celebration theme and that use either wood veneer or chipboard shapes.

Here's a little preview of the projects you'll be seeing today:

And here's the hopping order:

Please hop, comment on all blogs and then come back and enter using the Rafflecopter widget. You have through Friday, April 4th to enter to win the gift certificate.
Good luck!

Challenge #52: Lucky Charm

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Jessica here, and I can't believe it is already the middle of March, this year is flying by already.

In honor of today's festivities I've asked the Paper Girls, and I'm asking you, to create something about your

"Lucky Charm."

I'm good with a pretty loose interpretation of this -  a daily routine that you just can't mix up, the special bangle that your kid wears every day, or something green that reminds you of the lush Irish coastline. Just make sure you explain in your post so I know how you were inspired by the theme.

I chose to scrap about my father's game day rituals. He's a die hard Cowboys fan and has certain shirts/jerseys for certain types of game days. I don't "get" it, but I definitely think that fan rituals are a sort of "lucky charm."

Check out what a couple of the other Paper Girls think could be lucky.

Michele included a lucky star on her layout along with the best two lucky charms she could hope to have, her husband and daughter.

Erica went gung-ho and made her girls their own St. Paddy's day T-shirts.

May the luck of the Irish be with you in this challenge (props to you if you read that with a wee Irish accent).

The winner of our last challenge (#51 - Photo Inspiration/Mosaic) is:
#2 Tammi

Challenge #51: Photo Inspiration

Hi!  Kristy here, with your next Paper Girls' Challenge.  I love how random photos can inspire a project - whether it is the picture we are using on the actual project, or something you use as a jumping off point for your project.  In my case, I have 4 images that inspired me.  These are actually photos I took at the Laumeier Sculpture Park in St. Louis, MO.  I loved the mosaic look and how the colors came through.  (Check out to my blog for what the actual sculpture is!)

I used this inspiration, along with some watercolors, to create my cover page for my One Little Word book.

 Me

The other Paper Girls came up with some wonderful projects using the photo inspiration.  Check them out! Then let photo inspire you...and be sure to link up for a chance to win a prize.
