CHALLENGE #196 - Babies!

Hello crafty friends!

This is Brittany here to share a really sweet and adorable challenge theme for these next couple weeks - it's all about BABIES!

You see, I'm a new Auntie and have been loving every single baby snuggle I can get...and amid all the wild adventures so many of us are on right now with the Novel Coronavirus, who doesn't need to relish is a little baby sweetness right now, right!? We would love to see how this theme inspires you. You have until Saturday, 11:55pm MST on April 4th to link your project(s) to the linky below (that's almost a full 3 weeks)!

Here is some beautiful inspiration from our design team to get your creative juices flowing:

I am so excited about my new grandbaby. We don't know if it is a boy or a girl
so I decided to use colors for both.

This is my third granddaughter Avery.

This layout is of my granddaughter when she came home from the hospital - 6 years ago!

I created a card using non-baby related items for a sweet baby girl card.

CHALLENGE #195 - Glitter!

Hello, crafters!

We have some REALLY fantastic announcements today and some beautiful projects to kick off the month of March!

First, we would like to introduce our amazing guest designer, Cynthia Baldwin
"My name is Cynthia Baldwin. I live in Cypress, Texas (Houston) with my husband John, our two kids Nick and Aly, and our dog Lucy. I've been a memory-keeper since high school, but like many involved in scrapbooking, I really bit the bug when my kids were babies/toddlers. Now that I'm almost an empty-nester (my youngest goes to college this fall!), I have a craftroom that needs purging, and I'm contemplating the next stage of life, when my main photo subject will probably be my dog. (She's pretty sweet, and she mostly stays still, anyway.)"

"I honestly am not much of a glitter fan, because of the mess. (I currently work in retail at a home decor store, and believe me I was SO glad that the Christmas product is mostly gone, because there was glitter EVERYwhere!)
But I was surprised when I went through my supplies and found a lot of glittery items that aren't messy: cardstock, patterned papers, tape, chipboard, and enamel shapes too.
So, I made some cards: a couple girly ones, and just so we can prove that you can make more masculine projects with glitter items, I made a graduation card for my nephew (See the "Congrats"? That was a piece of confetti that I saved from a graduation party a few years ago...see, you never know when you can use stuff for projects. ;-) "

Thank you SO much for joining us, Cynthia! Please visit her Flickr photostream to see her beautiful artwork and give her some love!

Now, another BIG announcement that we've been SO excited to share with you all...we have selected two new incredibly talented permanent design team members: Lori Stroup and Alex Trofimov!!! Welcome to the Paper Girls Challenge Blog design team, ladies!!! Here is a little about them:

"Hello! My name is Lori and I am thrilled to be joining The Paper Girls Challenge design team! I live in a small town in SW Missouri with my husband of 30 years. We have 3 kids (29, 22, 20) and a granddaughter (6) who just started kindergarten this year. My family is my favorite thing to scrap. I started scrapbooking in 1998 when my sister bought me a Creating Keepsakes magazine. I fell in love with all the pretty paper and stickers and I haven't looked back since. I've got a pretty clean and simple scrappy style but once in a while I do love to add lots of layers to my projects. Along with scrapping traditionally, I also love to do Project Life, work in my Traveler's Notebooks, and card making. You can find me on my blog - My Happy Life and on Instagram @lori_670."

Alex Trofimov
"My name is Alex and I’m from Melbourne.  I also go by PinkCraftyMama!
I live with my Hubby of 19 years, am cautiously navigating the field
of raising a teenage boy and wrangling two crazy cats.

I love creating all-the-things!  Scrapbooking is my passion since the
storytelling and consequently memory keeping aspect is very close to
my heart..  I also love cardmaking and teach the odd class locally.
Besides papercrafting, I enjoy quilting, baking and all things Jane
Austen.
My home on the web is www.pinkcraftymama.com and you can find links to all my other socials there!"

Please visit our new design team members blogs and give them a big hello! We are SO lucky to have them both with us!

Now, here are the projects from our design team members:

Erica
Sometimes a little glitter adds just the right accent to a project. I know it gets a little messy and you may be wearing it a few days later... but who doesn't look good with a little bit of extra sparkle??

Brittany
I'm a fan of using glitter paper on my projects, they add just the right amount of sparkle to make images like this little unicorn shine!

It's a well known fact that GLITTER causes much controversy in the craft world.  Personally, I'm on TeamGlitter, but if you like the look and hate the mess then head on over to my blog.  I'll walk you through my crazy glitter monstrosity of a layout AND give you some ideas on achieving the glitter look without actual glitter!

I love the look of glitter on a project but I don't always remember to use it, and when I do it is usually gold or silver glitter. For my card, I challenged myself to use a green glitter paper instead of the usual gold or silver, although a bit of silver made it on my card, too.
