Hi Paper Crafters! It's time for challenge #101. This time we're working with mixed media. Basically, we're asking you to mix more than one different art medium on your projects. Try using any combo of inks (ink pads, spray ink, india ink), paint (watercolor, acrylic, oil), pastel (chalk or oil), pencil, wax, texture pastes, or anything else you can come up with.
Before we get to our design team projects, please welcome our guest designer for the month of April:
Hi, my name is Manuela and I am from Austria. I've been infected with the stamping-virus a few years now and it's not getting better ;) It's an awesome hobby to get creative plus you get in touch with the most sweet-natured crafters all around the world. I love to make clean and simple projects but sometimes it has to be "full". I love my papers and stamps, it's something that lift me up :)You can find me here:

Info about my card: I wanted to create a sponged background with inks and acrylic paint. I added glimmer mist and cut out some felt/newspaper-flowers, butterflies were a must-have on this card. And what is a card without some glitter and sparkle? ;)

And now here are our projects:
I used spray ink, india ink, embossing paste, perfect pearls, stamps and ink, gelato, charcoal pencil, and collaged paper on my background and distress ink on the front panel.
Kerys used chalk, pen ink, stamping ink, dimensional paint, glitter paint and lots of stamps.
I didn't want pix, just this statement, so a mixed media journal type layout was the way I chose to tell my story. Layers achieved with paints, paste, metals, chipboard, paper, wood etc.
I used dye inks to create a watercolor background, acrylic paint and a stencil for the heart, embossing powder for the sentiment, and glimmer mists to complete the card.
I used gesso, Echo Park's Butterflies #1 designer stencil, and Tim Holtz' new Distress Crayons to complete the background on this card.
I made my background with gelatos, distress ink and glitter glue.
Erica used Canvas, Gesso, Dylusions Ink spray, Mixed media paper, Ken Oliver's Color Burst and Gel Medium
