Challenge #202 - Circles

Hello, everyone, this is Brittany from the PGCB design team and I'm really excited to host our next challenge!  I'm not sure about you, but since I've been home a little more than normal lately, I've had a little extra time to get reacquainted to some less-loved scrapbooking tools in my stash. One being my paper punches and cutting circles...so...I figured it was a perfect time to challenge everyone to create a project using:
CIRCLES.

So, break out your punches, die cutting machines, and other circular shaped goodies and have some fun using the shape in new and creative ways. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with! This challenge (#202) will be open for participants for three weeks, up to Saturday, July 4th at 11:55pm, so plenty of time to get crafty.

We are going to kick off this challenge with a layout from our amazing guest designer, Karen Sessions!
"My name is Karen Sessions and I am thrilled to have been invited to be a Guest Designer during June.  My passions are scrapbooking and card making but I have enjoyed a lifetime of creative hobbies...sewing, knitting, embroidery, ceramics, jewelry, home decor, and rubber stamping.  I am comfortable creating in many different styles: vintage, cutsie, shabby chic, eclectic, steampunk, and sometimes CAS but most often my work is very intricate and embellished with a feminine flair.  Embellishing is my favorite part of the process where I select the perfect finishing touches.  Creating things is a magical process and I hope you will see the love of crafting in every tiny detail of my projects.

"My niece was radiating joy at the pool that day and I wanted to capture that by creating a sense of movement in the layout.  I created numerous types of bubbles from pattern paper, as well as, die cut bubble clusters to build the layers.  I made sure to have some bubbles overlap the photos and some larger bubbles go off the page.  By adding vellum selectively to some of the bubble die cuts, it added a wonderful illusion of depth to the layout because it is semi-transparent allowing one to see the details underneath.  To create the appearance of water-like droplet splashes, I used  blue & clear transparent domed gems. (Dew Drops) I scattered them randomly and love the way they glisten realistically when they catch the light.   I prefer to use glue dots as a neater and less stressful way of attaching tiny embellishments so I avoid potential accidents that can occur when using liquid glue.  "Seriously" became the title for the layout because she was seriously fearless trying everything her older brother could do in the pool."

Thank you SO much, Karen! We love this project so much!
Now, here is a little inspiration from our design team:

I have two projects to share, mostly because I got real excited with my circle cutters and punches.

This first project was inspired by a sketch and I loved the layers of circles. I added some enamel dots and circular letter stickers to my title as well.

This second project was also inspired by a sketch, but I liked the idea of combining circles in a grid pattern with circular photos and one square photo to add interest.

I did a card for the circles challenge (for a change!) and as always there's a bit of a story behind it.  This one involves leftover circles from a layout I made last year.

This is the layout I'm talking about.  And I still have soooo many circles left even after making the card!

Because we got a little mixed up with our dates this month, there is STILL time to participate and link up to our Colour Challenge (Challenge #201)...which means we haven't selected our winner yet. Challenge 201 will be open through Saturday, June 20th, 11:55pm MST - we will announce the winner of that challenge on Monday, 6/22/20, so please come back then to see if you were our randomly selected winner!

We want to encourage all of our challenge participants to refer our rules and prize structure here: http://thepapergirlschallenge.blogspot.com/p/how-to-play.html
