Challenge #190 - Holiday Lights

Happy Holidays to all our Paper Girls followers!

Michele here, and I know this is a very busy time of year, but I hope my challenge inspires you to get decorating or to go out and see some Holiday Lights and scrap about them.

#190 - Holiday Lights

Here's my project:
The lights in downtown Salt Lake City at Temple Square are amazing. I'm glad I was able to snap this photo a few years ago and it turned out even though it was dark (with a little editing). The collection I used is My Mind's Eye "Cozy Christmas", I love how these colors and patterns look with a kraft paper background.

Let's see what the other Paper Girls have created:

Karrie
My only Christmas lights this year are indoors ~ starting with a mirrored candle display on the bar.

Challenge #188 - Family

Hello everyone, this is Brittany, and I'm hosting our challenge this week - and it's all about FAMILY!  This can be your family by blood or adoption, your family of friends or co-workers, your furry/feathered/scaly friend family, or whatever family means to you. I can't wait to see what you create with this theme!

Before we start with loads of beautiful inspiration, I'd like to introduce you to our fabulous guest designer for this challenge, Karen Finkle, and let her tell you a little about herself and her gorgeous project.

"I began stamping in 2012 sporadically. In 2013 I started falling in love with stamping. My husband and I were RVing on our second Civil War trip and I didn't bring any stamping supplies with me. There was a reason for that in hindsight. Our trip was cut short while we were in NC due to a discovered cancerous tumor in his neck. We spent 3 months in NC for surgery and daily radiation. We returned to FL for chemo and my stress relief became stamping!

What also is great about stamping is all the stampers I met through the internet who were willing to pray for us on our treacherous journey. The doctors gave him one year to live. Fast forward 6 years...I am still stamping daily but yesterday marked the one-year anniversary of my husband's passing.

He supported my passion and would be so  happy to know that I'm a guest designer today. You can find out more about me and details for my card at https://karenscardkorner.blogspot.com/2019/11/stampin-up-pressed-petals-birthday-card.html

For a short synopsis, it was part of a One Sheet Wonder series using Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper."

Thank you SO much for designing with us and sharing your story, Karen. We are so happy to decided to join us and share this beautiful project.

Here is some additional inspiration from our design team...

I've been wanting to scrapbook these beautiful family photos we took last year. The color scream fall too, so it's very suiting for this season.

This challenge comes at just the right time because a new grandbaby joined us last week!

Here's a LO of cousins and aunts enjoying the Jelly Belly visitor center.

Erica
My family was all in town together so we did a quick picture of all of my siblings with my parents.

Heather
I created a card to send to some distant relative for Thanksgiving. I loved the color palette and the gold sentiment.

Challenge #185 - Birthdays

Hi All!

Welcome to the newest Paper Girls Challenge.  It's Kristy, back with your challenge.  Today is my birthday, so guess what theme I thought would be perfect for us?  BIRTHDAYS! I can't wait to see what birthday creations you came up with!

First of all, we would like to introduce our guest designer for this challenge, Birgit Johansson, and her gorgeous project!

My name is Birgit Johansson and I live in Sweden with my family. I make creations in every style, from cute to elegant, from CAS to vintage, from watercolor to recycling. There is always something new to learn and I often look at other people's blogs to find inspiration. For various reasons, I had to start a new blog a couple of months ago, you can find it at Cards R Fun   https://cardsrstillfun.blogspot.com/, but I have added a link to my old blog too and you are welcome to make a visit. Cards R Fun   https://cardsrfun.blogspot.com/

My Birthday card was made with some different spray colors and stencils for the background. I used the stamp Henry the mouse - Adventures with a friend from Whiff Of Joy and I colored them up with my Copics. I also used sentiment dies from Sizzix Tim Holtz Hanwritten Celebrate set. For more details please visit my blog at: Cards R Fun   https://cardsrstillfun.blogspot.com/

Thank you SO much for joining us to guest design, Birgit! We love your beautiful card!

For my card, I decided to make a masculine birthday card to add to my collection.  I never seem have those on hand when I need them.  Now I'm ready.  ;-)

Here are a few other birthday projects from the Paper Girls!

Make a Wish ~ Make it Happen!

I love challenges like this because they give me the chance to get my birthday card supply stocked up! Here are three cards I created for this challenge.

Michele
I documented my daughter's last 5 birthday parties.

I created a birthday card for a special someone.

Thank you to EVERYONE who entered our last challenge.

Challenge #184 - Anything Goes

Hello Paper Girls followers! It's been awhile since we've done this, but for this challenge, ANYTHING GOES!  Even better, our next challenge won't be until October, so you have an extra week to create!

#184 - Anything Goes

Here's a layout I made of my daughter and me enjoying our State Fair. I love the selfies I take with her, they turn out so much more natural than ones I take of just myself!

Let's see what the other Paper Girls have created to inspire you:

I've been working on a planner/baby book hybrid and here's a sneak peek !
There are calendar spreads, weekly diary pages and typical baby book info to record.
(more pix and detail on blog)

I chose to use a rainbow palette of inks and a stencil to create a blended background for a brightly inked card.

And now...congratulations to the winner of Challenge #183:

Challenge #183 - Falling in Love

Hello our fellow crafters, and happy start of September!

Even though Summer officially hasn't ended, it is starting to feel a bit more like Fall around here. The weather is starting to cool down, the days are getting a little bit shorter, the kiddos are back in school, and Starbucks released it's Pumpkin Spice goodies...so, it should be fall, right?

Well, we're kicking off our challenge today to bring in all the things we love about Fall. We are challenging you to create a fall inspired project that makes your heart happy...Falling in Love.

To add a little excitement to the fun, we are partnering with the Double Trouble ladies these next couple weeks and their extra fun Fall inspired challenge too! Be sure to check out their blog and link your projects to there challenge for an extra shot at winning a wonderful prize.

Here is a little Fall inspiration to get you started from our design team!

Challenge #182 - Picture inspiration

We have a fun picture inspiration up today to get the juices flowing. These colors are perfect for the season of harvest that is in full swing in the Northern Hemisphere. If you're in the Southern Hemisphere maybe you can do a springtime take on it? As usual link up your projects below! We love seeing what you make!

Erica
I was inspired to pull out as many of the purples and greens as I could from the image. I loved the deep jewel tones.

The colours in the pic inspired me to use up some large purple flowers with green tips on this card.
