Welcome to challenge #108. Since it is the middle of summer here and everyone seems to be traveling on vacation here and there, I thought we would use that as our challenge. So we're asking you to make a project centering around a trip, a vacation, or any type of traveling.
First up is our July guest designer, Tracy sharing a layout:
I've created my layout with the Travel Stories collection by Carta Bella. It's perfect for the vacation/trip/travel theme. I just love the colors and prints! Very versatile for most photos. I kept it pretty clean and simple with some light layering, added some coordinating stickers and topped it off with some little wooden accents. For my title I traced the word "WE" from an old stencil and did some fussy cutting.
Hi! It's Kristy here with Paper Girls' newest challenge - Be Patriotic. July 1st was Canada Day for our Canadian Paper Girls. Today, July 4th, is Independence Day for our US Paper Girls. In honor of this, we would love to see your Patriotic projects. Link your projects to this post by July 16th at 11:59 MDT.
Please help me welcome our guest designer for July, Tracy:
Hi there! I'm Tracy and I'm from NW Indiana. I live a blessed life with a great supportive husband and together we've created and raised a happy/loving blended family of four.
I started scrapbooking in 2003, by taking a local class out of curiosity, and that's all it took! I have been addicted ever since. In the last few years I have been able to spend more time creating and it's now become more of a lifestyle rather than a hobby.
As for my style, that's really hard to pinpoint since I am all over the place. Sometimes that depends on my picture or my product or even my mood but I do tend to lean towards a more simple, clean look. I'm always up for a challenge and for trying new techniques. This is a must so I feel as though I'm keeping up with the scrapbook trends and it gets me out of my comfort zone. My number one weakness right now are those cute little wooden accents. I just love them and you will probably see at least one on all of my layouts.
I'm so honored to be here with you this month as Guest Designer at The Paper Girls Challenge Blog. Thank you for the warm welcome and for stopping by! You can find me here http://scrappydaze2012.blogspot.com/
Here is her Project:
My layout I'm sharing with you today was created with the Sweet Liberty collection by Echo Park and it's a perfect choice for the Patriotic theme. I'm in love with all the fun prints and did my best to include most of them. For my photo, I did some fussy cutting of us out of one photo and layered it onto another photo for a 3D effect and because I wanted to take my favorite parts of both and make it into one! Both photos were from the same day just not in the same picture. I really love how it turned out! What do you think? I've included some close ups for a closer look. Again, thanks for stopping by and for sharing your time with me!
Here are a few close-ups of Tracy's project:
Here are the projects from The Paper Girls:
Kristy
On this 4th of July, I wanted to honor those men and women who have served our country at one time or another, including my husband. This was a picture of when he pinned on his Captain bars in the US Air Force.

Canada Day 1979!
Not having any photos didn't stop me from scrapping a memory about being in a Canada Day Parade.
