Challenge #132- Space Age

Hey there! Do you ever buy stamps or Scrapbook products because you just have to have them? Yeah me too. Anyway I have an affinity for Space themed products apparently. Enough that I do have a section in my organization. So since I get to choose a challenge a few times a year I thought I would try to use some of that stuff I haven't broken out of the packaging! So I bring you the theme:

Space Age

So let's see what you've got for us!
~Erica

We also have a fabulous guest designer to introduce: Heather Conklin

My name is Heather Conklin. I am a native to Washington State, and have lived my entire life in the Pacific Northwest. I am married to my college sweetheart, have two wonderful daughters and an adorable not-so-miniature Schnauzer. My day job is teaching Visual Arts at an urban high school. I have been crafting and creating my entire life, but only have been papercrafting since 2004. I love creating things with mixed patterns, using my Silhouette Cameo, and trying new mediums. One of my favorite things to do is to take a kit and use every single piece on as many projects as I can. When I'm bored, I have also browsed my own personal stash and built kits of random things that I already own.

I have a blog, but I haven't been blogging too much recently, but my favorite (and current go to) social media is Instagram.

BLOG URL: http://goldiecar.blogspot.com/

Here's her project:

And here's more from the rest of the Paper Girls:

I broke out all of the pigment sprays and colorburst  pigments and created this background for a Studio Calico stamp that still hadn't been inked yet. It was really fun to create!

Michele
I kept my card all black and white, just a pop of color for the planet Earth.

Brittany
I used my distress oxide inks to create the galaxy background on my card then heat embossed the star image and sentiment for my belated birthday card.

Challenge #131 - Seashells, sea or beach

Hi everyone, Karrie here, I'm up again and I have chosen "Seashells" for this challenge.
They're beautiful, a iconic image of summer,  and sure to remind everyone of good times at the shore.
It can be actual seashells added to your project, original artwork, patterned paper... or if you don't have any,  anything of the sea or beach will do.

We are incredibly lucky for this challenge to have guest designer, Maja Rijkers, joining us! Here is a little bit about her:

"Hello my name is Maja Rijkers.
I live in the Netherlands, in a town called Breda, together with my partner Jack, two dogs and two cats.
I have two grownup children who already live on their own.
I'm creative all my life, but I started scrapbooking in 2004 when I bought a scrapbook magazine at the local store.
I fell in love with it and haven't stop since! I also love to art journal and occasionally I make a card.
I'm so happy to be a guest designer here on the blog. Thanks for having me!"

And here is Maja's gorgeous project:

"This challenge is right in my alley, because it was so hot in the Netherlands the past few weeks that I really longed for the beach. So I made an art journal page about it.

The background is a blurry photo transfer of a pier by the sea with a little beach full of shells.
I cut some things out of a magazine and stamped an image.Than I collaged everything on my page.
To get an old weathered look I used some vintage photo distressink, black watercolor pencil and matte gel lmedium.
Than I dry brushed everything with gesso.

I hope you like my take of this challenge!"

Be sure to visit Maja and give her some love! We are so happy to have had her design with us.

Here is how the rest of us Paper Girls have interpretted the challenge:

I used actual shells on a wedding picture frame for my friend, who loves the ocean as much as I do.

and the other talented PaperGirls used them:

Erica
I stamped and embossed some seashells to embellish a scrapbook page.

I used tiny seashells we found on the beach to embellish this two-page layout about our trip to the Oregon coast for our anniversary.

Don't forget to come back and see if you won! Even if you are unable to guest design, we want to be sure you are in the prize drawing, for a $30 GC ! We have several winners who haven't responded.

And now...Congratulations to the winner of Challenge #130
