Challenge #60 Old Time Photos

Hi!  Welcome to the 60th challenge by The Paper Girls Challenge.  I can't believe we are at 60!!!  Thank you everyone for your support.

It is Kristy here, with the challenge for you: use an old photo.  Now I know everyone has a different definition of an "old" photo.  To some, an old photo is a picture taken back in the 1940's or 1950's. If you are chronological scrapper, doing a photo from a year ago may be old to you.  Or, do you do Project Life style scrapping, and you are catching up...those may be "old" photos to you.  I leave the "old" definition up to you, but please indicate how "old" it is on your blog post when linking.  It will be fun to see everyone's take on "old".

Here are some projects from The Paper Girls...

Challenge #39: Wired Up!

Hi!  It's Kristy here with our first challenge of September.  But before I get to that, I need to take care of a little sad news for The Paper Girls.  Judy and Sheryl have decided to step down as Paper Girls.  We will miss you greatly here on our page, but we hope you will still participate in a few challenges!  You will always be Paper Girls to us!!!
Moving on to the Challenge #39 - Wired Up! For this challenge, we want to see you use wire in fun and different ways.  Wire can be anything from jewelry wire, paper clips, even staples.  As you can see, we have all used wire very different ways on our projects!
Here are a couple layouts I have made using wire:

I used thin gauge wire to add a little interest on this page.  I didn't even bother unwinding the wire from the packaging!

On this layout, I use a jig to shape the title with heavier gauge wire.

The Other Paper Girls made some great projects that showcase wire in multiple ways:

Charity twisted wire into fun loops to add accents to her card.

Heather's hanger paper clip is a perfect resting spot for this dress.

Amber wound wire behind her leaves and made her own heart paper clip. Wow!

Erica used a shaped paper clip and also added some fun gold twist ties to accent her embellishment.

I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with for this wire challenge. You have until 11:59 MDT on September 14th to link up your project to be entered into this drawing.

As always, there will be a great prize for our lucky winner!

And now......

The winner of Challenge #38 is entry #18 - Leeann!  Please e-mail us at papergirlschallengeblog@gmail.comwith your info and we will get your prize sent out.

Challenge #32 - Color Palette Challenge

A very happy Monday everyone!  Charissa here today with our 32nd challenge.  This week I am challenging you to use a color palette inspired by this paper from Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm.

The paper includes navy, coral, and cream with touches of yellow, pink, and green.  So rifle through your stash and see what papers, mists, inks, and embellishments you can find in this color scheme and join us in this challenge.  Our fantastic DT members have created some stunning projects to get your creative juices flowing.

I love the navy ink splatter on Amber's card and how she combined the subtlety of the cream heart with the pop of the coral hello and flower!

Heather's card is so pretty!  The coral flowers really stand out against the navy team up and the embossed cream cardstock brings subtle elegance to the card.

Using the navy as the base for this card really makes is pop and makes the softer colors of the banner strips really shine.  I also adore the addition of the sequins in the supporting colors of the color palette!

With its deep navy background, Charity's laying is simply stunning!  The coral and cream really make a statement against the darker background paper and the little pops of yellow give just enough extra detail and interest!

Sheryl's layout is so pretty and the photos work perfectly with the color scheme with their own coral, navy, and yellow tones in the sunset.  Again, the deep navy background really allows the lighter colors (and the photos!) to really pop off the page!

Erica created an awesome trio of cards using the navy as a pop color and map prints in the coral and grey!  I love how bold the cards are!

This week I made my Project Life spread using the inspiration as my title card and building from there with the color scheme.  I actually pulled many of these papers from Lucky Charm, along with embellishments.  The colors really made the spread cohesive, colorful, and happy!

Lots of amazing projects this week!  I hope that you will be inspired by our inspiration patterned paper and will join us in this week's challenge!  Just a reminder that you will have until 11:59 MDT on June 1st to link up your project to us to be entered in this drawing.

Now for the winner of our Doodling Challenge - Challenge #31!

Lucky #2 - Stephanie

Congratulations!  Please email us at papergirlschallengeblog@gmail.com with your info and we will get your prize sent out.
